Dedicated microdrama catalogs generally acquire content through commissions, pitches, licensing or partner studios — not self-service upload. Open social platforms are the exception: TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels all allow direct publishing.
Direct-publish options • YouTube treats eligible square or vertical uploads up to three minutes as Shorts, with revenue sharing when requirements are met. • TikTok Series lets eligible creators sell collections of up to 80 videos, each 30 seconds to 20 minutes.
New and changed platforms in 2026 • PineDrama (TikTok): launched in the U.S. and Brazil in January 2026, initially free and ad-free. • Google TV / 100 Zeros: Google and Range Media Partners' initiative funds, produces and distributes dozens of projects, with a first window on the Google TV mobile app. • LoveHit: L.A. app and studio launching in September 2026 with public-domain adaptations shot in both vertical and horizontal versions. • aTwist: microseries platform from former network executives, debuted September 3, 2026. • Verza TV: added horizontal video and user-generated content just four months after launch.
New studios and deals • Microhouse Films (Taye Diggs and partners) takes filmmaker applications. • New Short Media (Alon Shtruzman and Scott Einbinder) has 10 scripted and unscripted projects heading into production. • Upscale Media Films (Atlanta) launched in September 2026 and is producing with Kevin Hart's Hartbeat for aTwist. • Fox and Dhar Mann Studios agreed an initial 40 series for My Drama, with Dhar Mann keeping ownership and creative control. • Constantin and Crisp produced two 60-episode series; GammaTime and Idilio are co-financing five native-Spanish series.
Before you pitch, confirm The platform's current intake route (open, pitch, commission, contest or partner-only), genres, territories, episode count and runtime, exclusivity, who owns the IP, localization, reporting and data access. Models change quickly — Verza's pivot is the proof — so verify directly with the platform.
